< 80ms/frame Inference Latency
~70% reduction Cost vs. Industrial PC
5 Production Lines Deployed
The Challenge

The client had validated a machine-vision defect-detection model on desktop hardware, but needed to deploy it on a compact, fanless production-line controller running inference locally, with camera integration and factory network connectivity — without the cost and space of an industrial PC.

Our Solution

We brought up embedded Linux on an ARM Cortex-A SoC with camera interface (MIPI CSI) and hardware-accelerated inference support, building a custom Yocto image with the client's inference runtime and application layered on top. Board design included industrial I/O for reject-actuator triggering and Modbus TCP integration into the client's existing line-control PLC.

The Result

The deployed controller ran the client's inference model in real time within their line takt-time budget, at a fraction of the size and cost of the industrial PC it replaced, and has been deployed across multiple production lines.
